The Curious Case of Olivia Marie

Olivia is almost 8 months old!!  She's sitting up, spinning around on her belly, rolling over and over and over, eating (she loves fruit - not loving the veggies so much) and becoming pretty engaged with the world around her.  She is still a very mellow, easy going baby - but when she is tired or hungry - look out!  She is going to let you know and loudly!

She has graduated from baby tub to sharing bathing real estate with her sister.  She's holding her own, grabbing toys and gnawing on the foam alphabet letters in spite of Hannah insisting that everything is "mine"  and getting splashed in the face repeatedly.  According to Donna, she is fabulous at playing independently with toys (not an endeavor she enjoys so much at home - she would much prefer to be toted around on her mama's hip).

She had an opportunity to meet her Nana & Pop for the very first time!  Nana, Pop, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Scott, Gracie & Lily came to visit.  Fun was had by all (giggling by the pool, Pop's Birthday, playing with cousins, hugs and kisses) - and Olivia was in heaven as she just loves the sugars that she was getting - particularly from her Nana and her Aunt Shan.  She is not really babbling much (creating much consternation for me) which has resulted in me making an appointment with a developmental pediatrician.  While I know each child is so different, I want to make sure that her quietness is a function of her personality as opposed to any issue.  Alarmist - no not me; pragmatist - yeah, I think so.

Her hair is growing - and Wade and I chuckle that it's growing like an old man's with a bad comb over awwww - our sweet beautiful girl!)  It's long on top and short on the sides.  I've pulled it off her face in a little top knot from time to time - and she is just a cutie (particularly when that hair is NOT falling in her face.
Next month we are going to begin swim lessons together.  She is currently not a huge fan of the pool (despite her love of the bath) - but I'm hoping with lessons twice a week, she will begin to love the water.
